VATL Interlibrary loan and document delivery policy

VATL encourages members to:

  1. Support the Australian Interlibrary Resource Sharing (ILRS) Code; and
  2. Provide other VATL members with “core” level interlibrary loan and document delivery services free of charge. This includes:
    1. Paying outward delivery costs when supplying, unless otherwise agreed.
    2. Paying return delivery costs when borrowing, unless otherwise agreed.
    3. Requesting libraries being liable for additional costs relating to rush and express orders.

VATL members that currently provide free “core” level interlibrary loans and document delivery services to other VATL members are:

  • Bendigo Kangan Institute
  • Box Hill Institute
  • Chisholm Institute
  • Federation University
  • Gordon Institute of TAFE
  • Holmesglen Institute
  • Melbourne Polytechnic
  • RMIT University (Brunswick and Carlton Libraries only)
  • South West Institute of TAFE
  • Sunraysia Institute of TAFE
  • Swinburne University
  • TAFE Gippsland
  • Victoria University
  • William Angliss Institute
  • Wodonga TAFE (TAFE level requests for TAFE library owned items only. Contact Wodonga TAFE to clarify ownership of items)

VATL members should contact the Association Secretary with any alterations.
